Are cellular phone signals interfering with digital converter boxes?

America made a switch from analog broadcasting of television signals to digital broadcasting signals. On June 12, 2009 those that purchased digital converter boxes began to receive clear, crisp pictures on their television sets. However, there reports of a few draw backs that some channels such as channels 7, 11, and 13 have completely been lost and cellular phones are interfering with the signals.
 
Cellular phone signals operate on a digital technology, just as televisions have now updated to digital broadcasting as well, but reports are coming in that whenever a cellular phone rings, the signal of the television weakens and often the picture is lost. In an apartment building complex, this is bound to have adverse effects with several people living on the same floor who certainly have cellular phones. The manufactures of digital converter boxes may have to look into this problem, and probably fine tune the signals of the box in such a way that it is above or below cellular phone frequencies so that viewers of television may be able to watch their screens without any interferences. If you are experiencing any difficulties with your converter boxes since the transition from digital to analog let your voice be heard.
